About MAJA

We know that there are a lot of clubs out there but we are not your normal Jeep club. We were started out of a need for a family oriented Jeeping club. A few of us just got sick of the way some events/clubs are run and the way some events have just become a reason to party. There is only one way you may join us. You must be invited out to a ride by a member who can or will vouch for you.

At this time there is no cost to join us. I do however encourage all of our members to join their local 4wd assoc ie SFWDA or what ever your local is.

We are open to any Jeep model.

The active members now have all met in one way or another, either through a trail ride or a web site.

We have members in several states including, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Tennessee and Florida.

Our rules are few but we will not allow them to be broken. They are as follows. If you can not abide by them you will be asked to leave.

RULES

1) Alcohol consumption is not permitted before or during a trail run.

2) Over use of alcohol at camp is not permitted. Keep it to a minimum please. We don't mind you having a few drinks at dinner but know when to stop.

3) Drugs will not be permitted at any MAJA function period!!! Use of illegal drugs will result in local law enforcement being called.

4) While we understand that in this day and age many carry firearms, these firearms must be kept secured or out of site. This to protect all of us.
We would hate to have a firearm stolen or a young child find one.

5) Its your job to monitor the Jeep behind you - if they stop you stop as soon as it is safe to do so. Alert the rest of the ride group that you have stopped if at all possible.

6) Travel only on marked trails.

7) Move over but do as much as possible to stay on the trail if you encounter someone moving in the opposite direction, or as faster groups catch us and pass us. This will be more atv's catching up, this is where the tail gunner needs to be watching and use the CB to warn those ahead, also of how many are coming.

8) DO NOT LITTER!!! We as a group should also try to pick up what others have left behind when possible. Doing this will help keep our ride areas open for future use.

9) Your radio should be only loud enough for you to hear it. (I don't use mine on the trail so I can hear what the Jeep is doing.)

10) Drive slowly and quietly while near livestock and wild animals.

11) A full sized spare is advised. You do need a spare.

12) Bring extra food and water for each person in your Jeep.

13) A CB radio is recommended.

14) A first aid kit is recommended. Even a small kit is better than no kit.

15) A fire extinguisher is also highly recommended , this is cheap insurance.
